Guestbook book

So I finally got my trip to Jo-Anns in and I finally found a scrapbook for my guestbook. Yes, it is a top loading one but as far as I can tell that and a side-loading are the only ones that actually exist out in the scrapbook world...but glee!I got the one that is in the top left corner. As soon as I get it done and "pimped" out I will post pictures, promise. Me thinks I might actually go off and work on it and such now.

Some Wedding Jokes

DISCLAIMER: I just find these funny, I am in no way trying to be mean, cruel or whatever...just found this funny.

Joke 1: Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her
excitement, not even her parents' nasty divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best
dressed mother-of-the-bride ever.
A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new
young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother.

Jennifer asked her step-mother to exchange it, but she refused.
"Absolutely not.

I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she
replied.Jennifer told her mother who graciously said,

"Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress.
After all, it's your
special day."
A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous
dress.

When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, "Aren't you
going to return the other dress? You really don't have another
occasion where you could wear it."
Her mother just smiled and replied, "Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing
it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding."

Joke 2: A happy marriage is a matter of give and take; the husband gives and the wife takes.

Joke 3: Grooms, once you get married remember that when you have a discussion with your future wife, always remember to get the last two words in: "Yes dear".

Joke 4: The celebrant noticed that the bride was in great distress so asked her what was wrong. She replied that she was nervous and afraid she would not remember what to do. The celebrant told her that she only needed to remember 3 things.
First the aisle, because that is what you'll be walking down. Secondly, the alter because that is where you will arrive.
Finally, remember hymn because that is a type of song we will sing during the service. While the bride was walking to the wedding march, family and friends of the groom were horrified to hear her repeating these 3 words. . . Aisle, alter hymn (I'll alter him!)

Joke 5: A man was speaking to God.
"God, why did you make women so beautiful?" he asked.
God said: "I did that to make you love them".
Then the man asked: "Well, God; why did you make them such good cooks?"
God said: "I did that to make you love them".
The man then asked: "But God, why did you make women so stupid?".
God said: "I did that to make them love you !"

Joke 6: The bride said she wanted three children, while the young husband said two would be enough for him.

They discussed this discrepancy for a few minutes until the husband thought he'd put an end to things by saying boldly, "After our second child, I'll just have a vasectomy."

Without a moments hesitation, the bride retorted, "Well, I hope you'll love the third one just as if it's your own."

Joke 7: As a new bride, Aunt Edna moved into the small home on her husband's ranch. She put a shoe box on a shelf in her closet and asked her husband NEVER to touch it.

For fifty years Uncle Jack left the box alone until Aunt Edna was old and dying. One day when he was putting their affairs in order, he found the box again and thought it might hold something important. Opening it, he found two doilies and $82,500 in cash.

He took the box to her and asked about the contents.

"My mother gave me that box the day we married," she explained. "She told me to make a doily to help ease my frustrations every time I got mad at you."

Uncle Jack was very touched that in 50 years she'd only been mad at him twice.

"What's the $82,500 for?" he asked.

"Oh, that's the money I made selling the rest of the doilies."

Joke 8
(this is one of my favorite):A little boy was in a relative's wedding. As he was coming down the aisle he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd (alternating between bride's side and groom's side). While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar loudly.

So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR all the way down the aisle.

As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the front. The little boy, however, was getting more and more distressed from all the laughing, and was near tears himself by the time he reached the pulpit.

When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear." -too cute-

Invites and Other Fun Wedding Stuff

Because of you, I laugh, I smile, I dare to dream again.
I look forward with great joy to spending the rest of my
life with you, caring for you, nurturing you, being there for you in all life
has for us, and I vow to be true and faithful for as long
as we both shall live.
~a vow I am partial too~

So I am playing phone/email tag with my photographer...it isn't entirely her fault..she lives in valley and they are doing a bunch of construction around her little farm and her phone lines are down...but yeah...it will get all sorted outed. Galt will do a beautiful stuff..I will be an uber happy child created my bride book..and we will find out the photo booth isn't too large to fit in the elevators at Holiday Inn.

Um, the next task I have is to attack invites...I can't find one that is prefabbed that I love..they are just so generic and redundant. So I am working towards doing a really awesome diy'd pocket folder which will look something like this
Obviously it will have more decoration then that but that is just general sense of what it will look like...it will cost around $400 for the whole project but I will be able to send out a product I love...not something I settled for. I am excited..hope to get it ordered soon, so I can collect whoever loves me enough and change them to invite making over Winter Break (like ONE month away..THANK GOODNESS). I know Christine and such will help me..she has more or less promised. I hope to make it a whole like thing but who knows.

I also got to decide what I want the verse to be..but there are like 100 decisions in that too..both parents, brides parents only, no parents...formal, casual, religious...

There is currently a forum post on Weddingbook (a facebook application) called "Lets see who can find the ugliest wedding dress!". Oh golly gee, there are some UGLY dresses out there. Here are a few for your enjoyment

Another forum that had me on the floor laughing is more or less kind of random...this girl whose name is Something Cullen (having a brain fart) who chose the song "Twilight" by the Electric Light Orchestra for her bridal party entrance...without relizing she is doing it for a party full of mostly Cullens...how hilarious is that...yeah, I know Twnerd (Twilight Nerd)

Wedding things to do within the next 2 weeks:
-Order ceremony music
-Order/design invites
-Finally have chat with photographer
-Finish up guest list + addresses
-Excel gift log set-up
-Create job responsbilities for bridal party
Try not to get worried Try not to turn on to Problems that upset you oh Don't you know Everything's alright Yes everything's fine And we want you to sleep well tonight Let the world turn without you tonight

Getting shit done

So this weekend, we got my wedding band in layway

We purchased his ring (no picture, sorry)

And got our cake server purchased and engraved

It feels good to get shit done

Wish the Future-in-laws weren't driving me up the wall...but that is a whole other Oprah.

Newlywed Game or the Shoe Game

I didn't know this game existed until about 10 mins ago and I have to say I am in love. It is the shoe game sometimes called the Newlywed Game...where the bride and groom sit back to back..each having one of the shoe and then the M.C asks questions like "Who has control of the remote?", "Who is the better driver?" stuff like that...then they lift the shoe of the one who coincides with the answers...it is great

I really hope I can work it into my reception some how..I probably can..but yeah...it is great.

You Can't Please Everybody

Yeah, I know you can't please everybody..there will always be something or another down the line that someone will not like..it just happens. I truly am sorry that she is graduating the same day that we have our wedding scheduled....I don't know, it just isn't...well, it doesn't really matter any more.

I am just gonna wait until I figure out how all the parties of interest feel. There is little to no chance I will move the date especially with 90% of it already planned and the wedding in like 6 months. Now if this was something I have known about since he and I got engaged, I might be a little more flexable..but I can't find out one day that she is graduating then be expected to change my plans.

Now this issue is a lot of complicated then what I present here...but really this is not the time nor the place to really to get into it

I will update when I found out more.

Florist and Photographer

So we have a photographer picked out..I just gotta get the fee paid and stuff like that and we are solid. So looking forward to being the one who gets to fiddle with the book pages

The florist...oh..that was so much fun...
My bouquet will be a cascading (http://www.roseshop.com/images/Cascading_bridal_bouquet_comp.jpg) but with these flowers

bridal + MOH bouquet by knittykittybelle
The MOH bouquet will have the same flowers but will be non-cascading

Bridesmaid Bouquets

bridesmaid bouquet by knittykittybelle
The hydrangea (brown base) will be a better chocolately brown..I couldn't find it on the net, so I just hued some blue hydrangeas in photoshop, so you can sort of get the idea of what it will look like.

Grooms Bout:
He didn't want "alien flowers" as he had dubbed gerber daisies..so he is ending up something like this:

groom bout by

The mothers and grandmothers corsages will be the same sort of thing but fuller...the grandmothers will be less full then the mothers

The groomsmen + other men (ushers, fathers etc) will consist of white mini gerbers

Then our quartet will have wrist corsages of bright pink mini gerbers with chocolate ribbon

The reception flowers will be great...half the tables will consist of the hurricane globes plus a taper and mirror, on that mirror will have 4 larger gerber daisy heads (2 bright pink and 2 white), some sparkly things, and some candles.....the other half will have tall pilsner vases which will contain willow branches then topped with bright pink gerber daisy pomander and then lit inside with pink lights, they will also be placed on the mirror (as provided by the site) which will be doted with the sparkly things and the possible the candles.

I am excited..very excited.

Last two bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dress is in

MOH dress...(modeled by Marissa..she is standing on the couch in the first picture)

Abby's dress...the dress color is gorgeous and she looks great in it...let me see if I got a pic of her in it somewhere....
...and then her crazy awesome watermelon shoes...I am so jealous, I would steal them if she didn't have like monster feet
Gosh, I love those!!!!

Flower girl dress...oh..that is sooo pretty..I love how it matches my dress almost COMPLETELY...oh..the Azalea color is gorgeous...I hope it is the right size for my flower girl..i can really tell for from the pictures, will have to wait until I can see it next week when I am home.

Oh yes..finally going home...I am so excited...it is going to be spent meeting with wedding vendors and do a lot of planning and stuff for where the decorations will go for the ceremony/reception.

Hope you enjoyed the very visual post...gosh..It is all coming together...so excited.

Um...why all the different colors??

Okay, so this is what my bridal party (minus the ushers/flower girl/ring bearer) will look like (this is from DB's Dress Your Wedding)...I chose all different colors because that is what I wanted.

I really wasn't feeling the army of matchy-matchy bridesmaids...just really isn't my thing..so I chose to have the each in a different dress and a different color..and I think it looks excellent. Maybe not the greatly represented through the computer graphics here...but in real life they all look great together.

Here is an inspiration board I made: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=3653383 that might be a little better representation of the all the colors together. The maid of honor will stand out from the group by having a smaller version of my bouquet and then the bridesmaids will just old a bouquet of 9 gerber daisies (like in the picture of this paragraph)

I think it rocks and will readily stand up for my decision to step out of the box and do something a little different...

Just Remembered I had this...TCHA WHOOPS!!!

Okay, many big things have changed in the last month...
1) My fiance and I have moved into our apartment together (well, he is currently not officially moved in, looking for a job still)
2) I have pimped out the flower girl basket and tiara...they are no longer white BORING things
It is very girly...spunky...traditional non-traditional

Wee..hmm...I have the 2nd version of the wedding program figured out..they are also pretty girly and traditional non-traditional

Oh yeah...that rocks also...and all that jazz....what else? Oh yeah..Think I have decided on what I want for the guest table decorations..it would end up looking something like this:

It would have the provided hurricane globe/long candle in the middle (the white and black circles in the middle)....then have green glass gems (If I can locate some for purchase), gerber daisy heads and possible maybe some tealights in like some sort of colors for a little pizazz...and stuff..so yeah.

Hmm, I should go to sleep..I have 3 classes tomorrow (bleh)...oh well, I will survive.

Until next time I remember I have this...I wonder if I can convince Brandon to write in this

NEXT hire a photographer and the florist.

Oh my, I am very behind in updated

I have sad news the website is currently in a long-term hiatus...our dude is having a hard time getting it fixed. I will probably be picking out an easier template or moving it to a different place...depending on which one will be easier. I really like the personalized name..but yeah.

My dress came in...doesn't that rock!!! I guess you will probably want to see pictures but for some reason I am going to be mean and make you guys wait..but however you will get a sneak preview and no, I am not afraid Brandon will find the pictures and ruin the surprise, because well, he is the one who took the pictures...plus when he is in the moment of watching me walk down the aisle, he will be so happy...I would look beautiful in holey jeans and an old t-shirt, lol.

Oh we have been flirting with changing Brandon's tux jacket color to a white dinner jacket...like Sean Connery's James Bond...it looks really great and makes him look more nicer with me. We have flirted with maybe even a brown suit, but I think we will end up with the white dinner jacket.

I finally got my last bridesmaid dress ordered...it should be in, in October, soo excited.

Currently shopping for a photographer, florist and a handful of other things...and photography is not CHEAP..garg..wish I wasn't so picky and such...it will work out, I guess.

I found a coupon for like 20% on wedding purchases, so I went and bought some stuff.

My cake topper

My cake topper after I pimped it out using yarn and ribbon
...
The flowers will be changed from white roses to white tulips, I just need a filler to show what it would look like and this is what I had lying around.

I also purchased some stuffage from my flower girl...a plain white flower girl basket and a white flower/pearl tiara. Both of these items will look a lot different once I get done with them. The basket us going to get some pink and brown accents with maybe some green ribbon...and the tiara is going to get some watermelon, clover and latte ribbons down the back..and then some pink silk tiny roset type things to add a splash of color, the flower girl dress isn't all white..why in the world should the basket and tiara be also.

College starts up again in like a week, so that will keep me occupied...but I am sure I will keep you updated on the website status and other things as they progress.

Wedding Party Finally Rounded

Fourth of July has come and gone and mine found me in Nebraska with family where I got to ask my flower girl and ring bearer to be part of my wedding. My cousin Colton will be my ring bearer and has requested a brown with pink ring bearer pillow (I showed him the pink and brown one and could tell he didn't really like the thought of carrying a pink pillow). This being I will be making my ring bearer pillow. I am thinking a brown that is close the color of the brown gerber daisies with a pink that is close the color of my flower girl trim.

Which that bring me to our flower girl. Our flower girl will be my 2nd cousin, Kelsey. She was a little unsure of wearing a dress until I showed her the dress and she loves it and now tells everybody all about it. I am excited she is so excited, she will look cute in the dress. Since they don't have it in the clover, the color will be Azalea (the second color choice) and I think will be ADORABLE. I can't wait!!!

The website is slowly but surely getting finished, I don't know when it will be officially finished but I would say sometime in the next few weeks. Brandon and I got the stuff sent to Chris, for him to write it up and such...just check back here for updates.

I guess that is all. I really need to go get some serious homework done and get Nastja directed in finishing her homework (her class ends this weekend!!!!!)

BIG Update!!!

JUNE 13th
that is the date folks

We have a ceremony location...........Unity Church of Overland Park
It has a beautiful sanctuary with a natural stone wall which gives the essance of being outside, with the comfort of being indoors. The wedding coordinator is very nice and the ministers like to fully take in the couple when they prepare the ceremony..which is most excellent
Plus it has BEAUTIFUL grounds for wonderful photographs...I am most happy.

On bad thing is the time, the wedding will have to be, 7pm -which isn't bad, but yeah, I was hoping for something earlier, but that is ALL good.

We are in contract stages for the reception room also. It will be at the Holiday Inn Overland Park in the Sunset Ball Room

It's appeal was it's location..on the top floor of the hotel and it's windows overlook Lenexa. It really is a great space. I enjoy it a lot.

We are also blocking rooms for our out of town guests...it should be great.

Can't wait

Oh yes, Caitlin got her bridesmaid dress ordered yesterday...which is AWESOME. Abby will be getting her order in on Tuesday. I am pretty much 100% sure I am changing Abby's dress color to a more emerald green.

And the website...resembles us more then before but still needs a lot of work. So um yeah, UBER thanks to Chris in all his work and patience with Flash.

I think that is all for now.

Brandon now has access to write in this blog, so hopefully he does, but you know guys ;-).

Ordered the Dress - Website update

Hello folks,
On Sunday my sisters and I convinced my mother to come to take use to David's Bridal, really to just look at bridesmaids dresses. Well, um, I ended up trying on the dress and we ended up ordering it. It won't be in until September 8th and I can't wait until I can finally get into a clover one...OH SO EXCITED. Except I keep having nightmares that I ended up HATING the dress in clover..let us just hope hat doesn't happen.

We also purchased the viel. It is GORGEOUS, and the ribbon and the appliquéd flowers will also be in the clover color..excited

We purchased my shoes and my tiara..also pretty.

The girls got their bridesmaids dresses, both really pretty. Actually, I think Marissa ended up with the one I orginally choose but Nastja ended up with a different one, which looks WONDERFUL on her. Oh, I can't wait to see everybody together...

Some people are giving me heck about my bridesmaids not wearing the same dress nor wearing the same color..but you know what..I don't care..it is my wedding and I will do whatever I wish.

Ceremony Site
Still looking for that perfect ceremony site, many of fell on the wayside. Tomorrow we are giving the Unity Church of Overland Park a call to see about them...I hope they work out because that would be AWESOME

Reception Site
Listen up folks, we have a receptions site..well, we don't HAVE it, but we are beginning the process. We found the one we want and should be having the contract written up sometime in the future...OH SO EXCITED!!!. I guess if it comes down to it, we will just have to get married and the have the reception in the same dang space..oh well, it happens. I will give you more news when we find out if they have the June 13th date still open for the Sunset Ballroom.

Website News
Sounds like the website is trucking on, I just need to get what I want written on the pages to Chris along with some links and it should be up..the problem is, I don't remember what I want written...or really what we decided each tab would be...I think if I sat down and thought real hard I could figure out but my silly homework keeps getting in the way..well, blah

Um, I guess I will keep you posted

Oh yeah, Brandon got to see the Arboretum today and didn't like the wonky seating or the lack of space the Lakeside Amphitheater provides. So yeah!

Website update and "The Search"

Our website is still not working, sorry for any inconveniences it may be causing. I guess something is wrong or something like that, heck, I don't know. I will keep you updated on any changes that occur. For now just keep coming here for any news.

Let me see here
Brandon and I have been on the hunt for a ceremony and reception spot. We think we have found our reception spot at a hotel not to far from here (the June 13th date is open) ....but we are still shopping. We have an appointment at 1pm @ Embassy Suites Plaza. It will be more expensive then the one here and also, it is DOWNTOWN, but still. Brandon and I both like the hotel near us (Holiday Inn)...a big seller is the WINDOWS in the sunset ballroom, sweet!!

I am honestly okay with having the ceremony in another ballroom at Holiday Inn, but my mother would like something more memorable, you know. She wants a church, I really do not. I am okay with a chapel but there is some stipulations on that..so yeah. I don't know why but I REALLY want an outdoor wedding. Yes, I am aware of how HOT it will be..but, it just fits my personality.

My parents and I looked at an outdoor amphitheater in an OP arboretum and botanical gardens. It looked nice but the guest sitting is wonky and there isn't a "walk down the aisle" aisle, it would be more of a come from the wings walk...idk.

There is also the Gazebo at Sar-Ko-Par Trails park. I like it and, well, yeah, there will be outsiders, but that happens, you know. I don't know, I really really don't.

I wonder if Price Chopper does strawberry cupcakes..cuz I REALLY want strawberry cupcakes....because well it fits the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry (Neapolitan) theme, you know....idk

Gawsh, I really should go to bed but I got more homework today. Well, if you have any suggestions on a good place to have the ceremony in either O.P or Lenexa..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know, I am running out of options...I mean, like, really. ..especially out doors, but I guess, I am open to anything at this moment.

Website news

Yesterday, Brandon and I got together with Chris to discuss the website.
Upon watching him work on it, Flash reminded me why most people have a love-hate relationship with the program...it has many flaws especially in the bug front.

Work has began but at this point and time I cannot give you an exact date when everything will be up and running to it's right content..especially right now, when you go there it doesn't even load entirely (I guess something with the server)...plus even if it loaded it is still the Template design.

When the website gets closer to being done I will let you know..

Oh yes, still looking at places. We toured Clubhouse on Baltimore on Saturday, it was BEAUTIFUL, but probably out of our price range..we really aren't trying to impress anyone...but I do want something nice...but not EXPENSIVE!!

Engagement Announcements, Photos, Website and many more

All righty then folks, yesterday evening my bridesmaids (minus Abby) + my FH went out and did engagement photos, so we could get the engagement announcements out. Despite the fact that I went to the eye doctor a few hours before and had severe aversion to the light (thanks to the eye dilation), we managed to get some really cute pictures.

They will be posted on the website, which btw we FINALLY have a domain purchased and setup and stuffage like that....you can find it at http://www.dudekschubachwedding.com. Right now all it says is "test", but by Sunday evening it should be, hopefully, if all goes well, up and running. Brian and Chris have been wonderful in helping us achieve the ability to have such a customized site and not a basic one.

But you, lucky blogger readers (which probably right now, are few) get the honor of seeing three of the photos before the website launch in Brandon and I's engagement announcements, which we are hoping to get sent out sometime within the next week.

Click to make larger (three separate images)

We made three versions to see which one we like best but since we are having a hard time figuring out which one we will be printing the last two and randomizing which goes in the envelope.

Today we are going cupcake tasting at BabyCakes, which is in downtown KC. Their website is what inspired the Neapolitan theme (well, not the EXACT website, but the products they sell). So that will be fun.

We are narrowing down the date...but that also includes narrowing down the places. We have a list and will start contacting either this weekend or early next week to get some prices...which will lead us to the date, which currently hovers somewhere between May 23-June 20, 2009. Yep, a WHOLE month. We still both like the 13th, but the 20th would rock also. It has been suggested to make it a long weekend, which would be the 23rd of May (happens to be Memorial day weekend), but that also PUSHES for everybody to be out of school and all that jazz.

Oh yeah, do you think it is strange that I way to put a heel size limit on my bridesmaids??

EDIT: Oh yeah, we finally have a full wedding party. Brandon decided on his last two groomsmen, his friend Stephen (Steven) and Matt.

A Wee Bit of an Update

Alrighty then folks.

We have been doing a lot of talking about the date, and we definitely like the June 13th, 2009 date...but we are also looking at maybe May 23rd, 2009. I guess it will really depend on the where that we choose.

We are currently looking at his Uncle's backyard, Union Station (under the clock or the Something Jarvis room) or a few other places. Really it depends on budget and availability and all that sort of jazz.

Brandon has recently set up a website that will contain information and everything else. I will probably not have the url until later this week, but as soon as I receive it, I will gladly pass it on.

We are also getting our engagement photos taken on Friday, which will be followed by sending out the engagement announcements.

We have many decisions to make in the next few weeks, aren't you excited?? I know I am.

Engaged

On May 27th, 2008, while watching a movie we began to talk about our future and then. He (Brandon) was like "hey, do you want to marry me?"...I of course said yes.

On May 31st, 2008, they went to pick out the ring. They decided on a marquise cut solitaire.

We are currently hashing out the date and will probably have a definitive answer within the next few weeks. We are currently looking at June 13th, 2009 but everything is up in the air.

We will be using this blog to keep track of all the ups and downs of a planning a wedding. From keeping on budget, choosing the linens and all the other things.

There is also the possibility of a website. When I know more I will let you all know.
